South Africa saw the participation of several people in an annual walk called the Long Walk to Fitness. This walk covers the distance between Pretoria and Mbombela and it takes ten days to complete.
In a country like South Africa where the youth is largely unemployed, a young person from Malamulele in Giyani, Limpopo, by the name of Freedom Maluleke took it upon himself to drive change in his community in a quest to empower young people.
It may appear to date that Black youth have attained higher levels of education today than at any other time in South African history. There are more black matriculates, more black high-level passes in Mathematics and Science, and many more black university graduates, both as a proportion of the black proportion and in absolute terms.
Social Media creates a superficial world which is untouchable as it cannot be a physical space. This non-physical space allows for one to be able to recreate themselves into whomever they want to be perceived as in the ‘world’’. Moving away from being ‘human’ into this second self, that can be classified as data or the digital self.
